If you hand wash your dishes, please be aware that you are wasting a lot of water doing it compared to using a dishwasher. Hand washing can use as much of 27 gallons of water per load. Using a dishwasher made after 2013, that is Energy Star certified can use about 3 gallons per load. If you don’t have a dishwasher, make sure you turn off the water when you’re not actively using it.
